Laboratorio de Botánica - Herbario

Especialista en sistemática de plantas vasculares terrestres y acuáticas, dedicada especialmente a la investigación de la flora y vegetación de humedales dulciacuícolas y marismas. Lo que se concreta en la elaboración de catastros florísticos y vegetacionales, tanto de la región de Los Ríos como del resto del país. Tópicos importantes a estudiar son la comprensión del paisaje vegetal, la dinámica de las comunidades vegetales y sus relaciones con alteraciones de origen natural y antropogénicas. Se intenta asimilar a las comunidades vegetales como hábitats de flora y de fauna. Encargada del Herbario VALD.

También trabaja en la biología de macrófitos y terrífitos en tópicos, tales como: la utilización de bioindicadores vegetales para los ambientes acuáticos y terrestres, resistencia de especies vegetales a la contaminación y uso de helófitos en la purificación de aguas servidas. Además, investiga problemas de conservación de especies vegetales endémicas, desarrollando métodos para su selección.

Specialist systematic terrestrial and aquatic of vascular plants, especially devoted to the investigation of the flora and vegetation of freshwater wetlands and marshes. What is particular in the development of flora and vegetation cadastres both the Los Ríos and the rest of the country. Important topics to study are the understanding of plant landscape, the dynamics of plant communities and their relationships to alterations of natural and anthropogenic. It attempts to assimilate plant communities as habitat for flora and fauna.

In charge of the VALD herbarium; also works on the biology of macrophytes and terriphytes on topics such as: the use of plant bioindicators for aquatic and terrestrial formations, resistance of the vegetal species to contamination and helophytes use in the purification of wastewater. Also investigates problems of conservation of endemic plant species, developing methods for selection.
